The Cornell University Chorale is a mixed choir of students, faculty, and staff dedicated to artistic excellence through diverse repertoire, collaborative music-making, and meaningful musical experiences. Through performances, touring, recordings, and community outreach, Chorale members develop musicianship, leadership, collaboration, and lifelong friendships.
The Cornell University Chorale will hold auditions for both the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.
The general audition period for Cornell's three choral ensembles will take place between Monday, August 17, and Tuesday, August 25 in Lincoln Hall 233.
Prospective singers should prepare a short selection (approximately one verse and one chorus, or 16–32 measures) of any song that showcases their voice and that they can perform comfortably and confidently without accompaniment. The audition will also include vocal exercises, pitch-matching, and sight-singing.
If you are interested only in joining the Cornell University Chorale, you may arrange a Chorale-only audition by contacting Dr. Yen-Hsiang Nieh (yn296@cornell.edu). Chorale-only auditions will be held in Lincoln Hall 129 and are available to students, faculty, and staff who wish to be considered exclusively for the Chorale.
