Taipei Voices, a choir from Taiwan, will travel to the U.S. East Coast to present the concert Cross the Sea, an all-Taiwanese program of choral works by Taiwanese composers. The ensemble is conducted by Dr. Yen-Hsiang Nieh, Assistant Director of Choral Music at Cornell University, who is dedicated to promoting Taiwanese choral music and international cultural exchange.
The program features choral works in Mandarin, Minnan (Taiwanese), Hakka, and Indigenous languages, reflecting the rich cultural diversity of Taiwan. Through sincere and expressive interpretations, the concert seeks to bring a sense of home and connection to overseas audiences during the Lunar New Year.
The Cornell Chorale will open the concert under Dr. Nieh’s direction, creating an evening of artistic collaboration and cultural exchange.
This event is sponsored by the Cornell Council for the Arts, the Cornell Music Department Concert Committee, SAFC, and ISA, and is funded in part by the Student Assembly.
